Both riders sustained spills during their lead up to the weekend’s racing for Round 10 of the British Superbike Championship at Donington Park in Derby. BSB rider, Wainwright suffered a low side at the Fogarty Esses during his second free practice of the weekend while Moto3 rider, Josh Owens also hit the tarmac as he experienced a slow high side at the Melbourne Hairpin during his second qualifying session.
Josh ‘Reggie’ Wainwright said. “We continue to develop the BMW and move forward, again I was faster each time I went out. If you look at the overall lap times the grid is so close and those initial 10ths of a second, make all the difference.” On his crash, he added. “I clipped the curb going through the Esses and lost the front end early in the second session. I was devastated seeing the bike doing a barrel roll so early on, I thought it was game over for the weekend, so a huge thank you to the boys back in the garage for getting me back out there.”More
